Osinbajo fires back at Atiku over restructuring of Nigeria debate

Osinbajo fires back at Atiku over restructuring of Nigeria debate

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday reacted to a statement credited to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar faulting his stance on the restructuring of Nigeria.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Minnesota, the United States of America, Osinbajo had said the problem of Nigeria was not geographical restructuring but prudent management of national resources.

The Vice President had also noted that the prudent management of the nation’s resources and the provision of essential needs of the people were better ways of addressing Nigeria’s development challenges.

“Problem with our country is not a matter of restructuring…and we must not allow ourselves to be drawn into the argument that our problems stem from some geographical restructuring,” he had said.

But Abubakar on Saturday faulted the stance of his successor, stressing that the current Vice President got it wrong on restructuring.

In an open letter he personally signed and sent to DAILY POST, Osinbajo insisted that restructuring in “whatever shape or form, will not mean much if our political leaders see public resources as an extension of their bank accounts.”

The letter reads, “First, let me say that I really would have expected Alhaji Abubakar to at least get the full text of my comments before his public refutal of my views. But I understand; we are in that season where everything is seen as fair game! He quoted me as saying that “the problem with our country is not a matter of restructuring… and we must not allow ourselves to be drawn into the argument that our problems stem from some geographic re-structuring”.

“Yes, I said so.

“As the quote shows, I rejected the notion that geographical restructuring was a solution to our national problems. Geographical restructuring is either taking us back to regional governments or increasing the number of States that make up the Nigerian federation.

“As we all may recall, the 2014 National Conference actually recommended the creation of 18 more States. And I argued that, with several States struggling or unable to pay salaries, any further tinkering with our geographical structure would not benefit us.

“We should rather ask ourselves why the States are underperforming, revenue and development wise. I gave the example of the Western Region (comprising even more than what is now known as the South West Zone), where, without oil money, and using capitation tax and revenues from agriculture and mining, the government-funded free education for over 800,000 pupils in 1955, built several roads, farm settlements, industrial estates, the first TV station in Africa, and the tallest building in Nigeria, while still giving up fifty percent of its earnings from mining and minerals for allocation to the Federal Government and other regions.

“I then argued that what we required now was not geographical restructuring but good governance, honest management of public resources, deeper fiscal Federalism, and a clear vision for development.”

On the issue of deeper fiscal federalism or restructuring, Osinbajo said, “I explained how the then Lagos State Government, led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, decided to fight for greater autonomy of States.

“As Attorney-General at the time, it was my duty and privilege to lead the legal team against the then Federal government, in our arguments at the Supreme Court. I am sure that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would remember these cases on greater autonomy for States that I cite below, as he was Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the time.

“At the Supreme Court, we won several landmark decisions on restructuring Nigeria through deeper fiscal federalism, some of which our late converts to the concept, now wish to score political points on.

“It was our counter-claims alongside those of other littoral States, that first addressed so comprehensively the issue of resource control. We agreed with the oil-producing States that they had a right to control their resources. We argued, though unsuccessfully, that the Ports of Lagos were also a resource, which should enable Lagos State, in the worst case, to be paid the derivation percentage for proceeds of its natural resources. Years later, we also filed an action at the Supreme Court arguing that the Value Added Tax, being a consumption tax, should exclusively belong to the States.

“On the issue of who, between the Federal and State governments, should have authority to grant building permits and other development control permits, the Supreme Court, by a slim majority, ruled in our favour. It held that, even with respect to federal land, States had exclusive authority to grant building or other developments control permits.

“In 2004, we created 37 new local governments in Lagos State. We believed that we had a Constitutional right to do so and that in any event, a State should have a right to create its own administrative units. Several other States joined us and created theirs.

“The Federal government’s response was to seize the funds meant for our local governments, thus strangulating States like Lagos, which had created new local governments. We challenged this at the Supreme Court. The court held that the President had no right under the Constitution to withhold or seize funds meant for the States. The allocations were not a gift of the Federal Government to the States. They were the Constitutional right of the States and local governments.

“The court also agreed that States had a Constitutional right to create local governments, pursuant to section 8 of the Constitution, but that the creation remained inchoate until the National Assembly, by resolution, amended the existing list of local governments to capture the newly created LGs.

“In response, we created by State Law, Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), to accommodate the newly created Local Government Councils until such a time as the National Assembly would complete the process. But the Lagos State Government took up the challenge to re-engineer its revenue service, making it autonomous. With innovative management, tax collection in Lagos became more efficient, and tax revenues continued to grow geometrically. Today, the State earns more IGR than 30 States of Nigeria put together!

“Further, we contested the attempts of the then Federal Government to create supervisory authority over the Finances of Local Governments by the signing into law of the Monitoring of Revenue Allocation to Local Governments Act, 2005. The Supreme Court also ruled in our favour, striking down many provisions of the law that sought to give the Federal government control over local government funding.

“I have been an advocate, both in court and outside, of fiscal Federalism and stronger State Governments. I have argued in favour of State Police, for the simple reason that policing is a local function. You simply cannot effectively police Nigeria from Abuja. Only recently, in my speech at the Anniversary of the Lagos State House of Assembly, I made the point that stronger, more autonomous States would more efficiently eradicate poverty. So I do not believe that geographical restructuring is an answer to Nigeria’s socio-economic circumstances. That would only result in greater administrative costs. But there can be no doubt that we need deeper fiscal Federalism and good governance.

“Alhaji Atiku’s concept of restructuring is understandably vague because he seeks to cover every aspect of human existence in that definition. He says it means a “cultural revolution”. Of course, he does not bother to unravel this concept. He says we need a structure that gives everyone an opportunity to work, a private sector driven economy. Yes, I agree. These are critical pillars of our Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), including our Ease of Doing Business Programme.

“If, however, this is what he describes as restructuring, then it is clear that he has mixed up all the issues of good governance and diversification of the economy with the argument on restructuring.

“Good governance involves, inter alia, transparency and prudence in public finance. It involves social justice, investing in the poor, and jobs for young people; which explains our School Feeding Programme, providing a meal a day to over 9 million public school children in 25 States as of today. Our NPower is now employing 500,000 graduates; our TraderMoni that will be giving microcredit to 2 million petty traders; our Conditional Cash Transfers giving monthly grants to over 400,000 of the poorest in Nigeria. The plan is to cover a million households.

“Surprisingly, Alhaji Atiku leaves out the elephant in the room – corruption. And how grand corruption, fueled by a rentier economic structure that benefits those who can use political positions or access to either loot the treasury or get favourable concessions to enrich themselves. This was the main part of my presentations the Minnesota Town Hall meeting.

“In arguing for good governance, I made the point that our greatest problem was corruption. I pointed out that grand corruption, namely the unbelievable looting of the treasury by simply making huge cash withdrawals in local and foreign currency, was the first travesty that President Buhari stopped.

“I showed the OPEC figures from oil revenues since 1990. In four years from 2010 to 2014 the PDP government earned the highest oil revenues in Nigeria’s history, USD381.9billion. By contrast, the Buhari Administration has earned USD121 billion from May 2015 to June 2018, less than 1/3 of what Jonathan Administration earned at the same period in that administration’s life. Despite earning so much less, we are still able to invest more in infrastructure than any government in Nigeria’s history. The difference is good governance and fiscal prudence.

“In the final analysis, restructuring in whatever shape or form, will not mean much if our political leaders see public resources as an extension of their bank accounts. This, I believe, is the real issue.”

Banky W speaks on being used as photographer by wife, Adesua

Nigerian frontline R&B singer, Banky W, has said there was nothing wrong with him playing the role of his wife, Adesua’s photograher.

Banky and Adesua are top Nigerian celebrities who got married few months ago.

Banky has been criticised by fans for stooping so low as becoming Adesua’s photographer, while some others even suggested that he was under the control of the Nollywood actress.

On several occasions, the renowned singer has been caught in different positions trying to take good photographs of Adesua and one of the occasions was captured at actor, Gabriel Afolayan’s wedding.

Speaking with Punch, Banky said that there was no big deal in taking his wife’s pictures in public despite his fame and fortunes.

He said, “Why would I feel bad taking pictures of my wife in public?

“She is my wife and the two of us are one. We are always there for each other and if she needs me to take a picture of her, I would be her photographer. It is the same way around as well; she does the same thing for me.

“Marriage is a teamwork and you should be the one that your partner can depend on and it goes both ways.

“That is the way we operate, there is no big deal in being my wife’s photographer or taking pictures of my wife. What is it in taking pictures of my wife?”

Mourinho accuses staff of ‘killing him’, speaks on Juventus

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has accused the club’s media officer, Karen Shotbolt of ‘killing’ him after the win at Burnley.

Mourinho was asked two questions at the same time following the 2-0 victory at Turf Moor on Sunday.

The former Chelsea boss wanted to answer one about starting midfielder Marouane Fellaini only for press officer Shotbolt to ask him to deal with the other one instead.

But Mourinho said, “You are killing me! It is the only question anyone is going to ask where I can say ‘it was my decision’.”

Mourinho, however, answered the question on Fellaini before going back to an Italian journalist who asked about United’s Champions League draw with Juventus.

To that, the former Real Madrid boss said, “After Liverpool they have probably spent more than anyone this summer.”

The Police Command in Enugu State has arrested a school Headmaster, one Idoko Nathaniel, aged 50, of Mkpamteulo village, Enugu Ezike community, Igbo-Eze North Council for allegedly defiling four pupils put under his care.

Police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement on Monday, said that the incident happened at Migrant Farmers Children School located at Aguibeji community in Enugu Ezike, Igboeze North local Government Area.

Amaraizu said that operatives of the Gender Unit of the state’s Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department investigated the suspect for weeks in relation to his alleged nefarious activities.

He noted that the suspect had allegedly in the afternoon of July 17 at a bush near the school sexually abused and defiled the four minors aged between five and six years.

“It was gathered that the school headmaster had allegedly used his fingers on the private parts of the four female school pupils, inflicted serious injuries on them and thereby making them to be walking abnormally.

“It was further gathered that this was revealed as one of the victim school pupil opened up to her parents on what transpired in the school where she was defiled by the headmaster.

“This, however, led to the arrest of the headmaster. In his response, the headmaster regretted his act and blamed it on the Satan,” Amaraizu said.

“My wife is not happy with me over this incident. I am begging my wife, the parents of the children and God to forgive me,” Amaraizu quoted the suspect as pleading.

Hazard names clubs that’ll stop Chelsea from winning Premier League

Chelsea star forward, Eden Hazard has said that he has the ‘confidence’ to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

But the Belgian noted that Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham will be the obstacle.

Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League last season, 30 points behind champions, City.

The Blues have made a strong start to the current campaign, winning four straight games.

“Of course, in the end we want to compete for the first three places,” the Belgium forward was quoted by Metro UK as saying after their 2-0 win over Bournemouth.

“We want to be champions at the end although we know it will be hard because Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham are very strong.

“So we will see at the end, but we want to be at the top.

“We can improve [on the Bournemouth game], of course. We didn’t concede a goal – that’s a good point.

“We scored two, maybe we should have scored more – like always.

“I think we can move the ball quicker – in the first we were a bit slower. We can improve.

“We have the confidence. We have the international break now. We can rest a bit some players.

“We have a lot of hard games when we get back.”

Looters now hide Nigeria’s money in burial grounds – Umahi

Looters now hide Nigeria’s money in burial grounds – Umahi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi on Monday revealed that many looted funds in Nigeria were stocked in foreign banks, cemeteries and underground.

He made this known while declaring open anti-corruption, ethics and integrity training for Ebonyi State local government officials, held in Abakaliki on Monday.

The Governor advocated amnesty for looters, saying such approach would help in arresting corruption and commit offenders in surrendering over 70 percent of looted public funds.

He promised that in the course of fighting corruption, Ebonyi State government would establish ICPC office in the state.

“We have so much of the looted funds trapped in foreign banks, some buried at the cemetery while many were buried underground where they were destroyed by termites.

“But if there is a negotiation like committing the looters into subtly surrendering at least 70 percent of the looted funds and keeping the rest or investing all the funds in the country; by so doing, we would have recovered the money and made use of it”, he said.

Buhari rejects Electoral Act bill, gives reasons

Buhari rejects Electoral Act bill, gives reasons

President Muhammadu Buhari has declined assent to the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2018, transmitted to him by the National Assembly.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Sen. Ita Enang, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

He said the President declined assent to the bill due to some issues.

According him, one of the concerns of the President was the period fixed for primaries.

He said the schedule for primaries provided that it should not be earlier than 120 days and not later than 90 days to elections.

He further said the schedule would allow Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) only 9 days to collate list of candidates among others.

“His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, has by communication dated Aug. 30, 2018, to the Senate and the House of Representatives declined assent to the Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 2018.

“I pray for leave, that in view of public interest, the fact of the National Assembly vacation, the imperative to avoid speculation and misinformation, that I give just a few of the rationale by Mr. President.

‘’Mr. President is declining assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill due to some drafting issues that remain unaddressed following the prior revisions to the Bill.

“Mr. President invites the Senate and House of Representatives to address these issues as quickly as possible so that he may grant Assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill.”

Enang added that Section 87(14) of the bill among other sections, needed to be reviewed by the national assembly.

He said, “the proposed amendment to include a new Section 87 (14) which stipulates a specific period within which political party primaries are required to be held has the unintended consequence.

”It leaves INEC with only nine days to collate and compile lists of candidates and political parties as well manage the primaries of 91 political parties for the various elections.

“This is because the Electoral Amendment Bill does not amend sections 31, 34 and 85 which stipulates times for the submission of lists of candidates, publication of lists of candidates and notice of convention, congresses for nominating candidates for elections.”

He further said, “for clarity, may I provide some details of the provisions referenced.

“Clause 87 (14) states that, ‘the dates for the primaries shall not be earlier than 120 days and not later than 90 days before the date of elections to the offices.

“The Electoral Act 2010 referred to herein states in Section 31, ‘’that every political party shall, not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general elections, submit to the Commission the list of candidates the party proposes to sponsor at the elections.

“Section 34 stipulates that ‘the Commission shall at least 30 days before the day of the election publish a statement of the full names and addresses of all candidates standing nominated.

“Section 85 (1) provides that a ‘political party shall give the Commission at least 21 days notice of any convention, congress etc., for electing members of its executive committees or nominating candidates for any of the elective offices.’’

Enang explained that for the avoidance of doubt, neither the Constitution nor any written law allowed a president or a governor to whom a Bill was forwarded by the legislature to edit, correct, amend or in any manner alter the provisions of any such Bill to reflect appropriate intent before assenting to same.

He said such a person was to assent in the manner it was sent or withhold assent.

The presidential aide also listed other reasons for the withholding of assent by the president.

“A few of the outstanding issues are, there is a cross referencing error in the proposed amendment to Section 18 of the Bill. The appropriate amendment is to substitute the existing sub-section (2) with the proposed subsection (1A), while the proposed sub-section (1B) is the new sub-section (2A).”

He further noted the president had communicated his action on other bills earlier transmitted to the national assembly.

The bills, according to Enang, include the National Agricultural Seeds Council Bill, 2018, The Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and The Chartered Institute of Entrepreneurship (Establishment) Bill, 2018.

Others according to him, are the Subsidiary Legislation (Legislative Scrutiny) Bill, 2018; National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism (Establishment) Bill, 2018; National Research and Innovation Council (Establishment) Bill 2017; Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2017.

Enang had in August, clarified that the Electoral Bill passed by the National Assembly on July 24 and forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari on Aug. 3, was alive and awaiting assent.

He gave the clarification against the backdrop of report published by a national daily that Buhari had again vetoed the 2018 electoral bill forwarded to him for assent.

Enang had said the vetoed bill was the one sent to the President on June 27 and not the one passed by both chambers of the National Assembly on July 24, the day it embarked on annual recess.

Enang added that the vetoed bill was the one with contentious provisions and infractions on provisions of the 1999 Constitution.

De Gea demands to be second highest-paid Manchester United player

De Gea demands to be second highest-paid Manchester United player

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, is holding out for £350-000-a-week deal to put him on par with the likes of Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, as the club’s highest earners.

Sanchez earns £450,000 a week, while Pogba takes home £260,000.

De Gea will be a free agent next summer and could live for nothing, if the Old Trafford outfit does not tie him to a new contract.

SportsMail reports that a £200,000-a-week-plus, long-term deal is on the table, but the Spaniard has refused to sign it.

However, manager Jose Mourinho, is confident that De Gea will put pen to paper.

“I don’t belong in the process of discussing deals with the players and negotiations with agents.

“I never did that, it’s something that I don’t even like to do.

“I would be a bad negotiator; I would give everything to the players. So I don’t belong to that.

“I just know that everything is in movement and hopefully sooner than later we’ll have good news,” Mourinho said.

“I understand Cristiano but Modric deserved the award,” Del Piero told Sky Italia.

“Modric did something extraordinary in Madrid and in the World Cup, so the prize was well deserved. But Cristiano also had a wonderful season.

“I would also get angry in [Ronaldo’s] place, but not going to the gala is something else.”

Gov. Al-Makura speaks on receiving N10bn from Dangote to endorse APC governorship aspirant

Gov. Al-Makura speaks on receiving N10bn from Dangote to endorse APC governorship aspirant

The Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has denied receiving the sum of N10billion from Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote on behalf of one of the gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Al-Makura’s denial was contained in a statement by his Director General of Strategic Communication and Press Affairs,Yakubu Lamai.

The governor lamented that some detractors who were out to blackmail him were in search of cheap popularity.

The statement said Al-Makura was said to be “under pressure by Aliko Dangote, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and others to impose Abdullahi Sule, who is a director with Dangote group, as the sole gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the state.”

It was further claimed that he received N10billion from Dangote to endorse Alhaji Abdullahi Sule.

However, Lamai denied that there was such an exchange or understanding between the Governor and the business mogul.

Condemning the allegation, Lamai said, “It is a malicious propaganda meant to gain traction and a new twist by conspirators.

“We find it mind-boggling that any rational person will conceive a ludicrous and fictitious propaganda.”

Taking off condom during sex without partner’s consent is rape – Lady claims

Taking off condom during sex without partner’s consent is rape – Lady claims

A lady has taken to twitter to write on her opinion on rape and according to her, if a man takes of his condom during sex with his partner, and doing so without her consent, then he has succeeded in raping her.

The lady identified as @iamsashakae, then went ahead to mention that by so doing, the man is not only exposing the partner to possible STIs, he has indirectly forced her to take extra precautions to ensure that she is not affected by his actions, negatively.

Read her tweets below;

“if you remove the condom without the knowledge AND consent of your partner and you continue to have intercourse you have indeed committed rape. removing the condom changes the context of the sex they consented to. they did not consent to raw sex. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

you’re not only exposing them to any sti you may/may not knowing/unknowingly have. you’ve now forced them, more than likely a woman, to take EXTRA precautions. those include:

-plan B. which reacts to every woman differently and can have terrible side effects.
-unnecessary stress due to the fact that she didn’t trust you enough to have unprotected sex so now she has to make a doctor’s visit to be sure she hasn’t contracted anything from you.

-PREGNANCY and some women can’t carry children and can’t get abortions. it’s a thing.
and before you all say “that’s why you should be on birth control” not every woman can operate on birth control. it can sometimes cause a woman to become very ill. just wrap it bitch.

I want to add that I personally believe this is so hard for men to grasp because they are afraid of coming to terms with the fact that they may have violated a woman. however, society has only recently been pushing the importance of consent in every manner.

so things like coercion, deception, bleeping a drunk girl because she drunkenly said yes.. earlier on you probably didn’t know those things were sexual assault because society did not teach us that. but NOW there is no excuse for you all. both genders. the information is there.

popping in again. we can keep this same energy for poking holes in condoms and lying about bc but I’d like to add that by being on birth control a woman is only saving herself from getting pregnant. not preventing STIs and might still become pregnant even on bc. so.. there’s that

I have concluded that you niggas are rapists and imma remain abstinent and make love to this money”

Lionel Messi excluded as FIFA releases 3-man shortlist for best players

Argentine Football star, Lionel Messi has been excluded from the final shortlist of the FIFA’s Player of the Year Award.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mo Salah are the three finalists, according to Spanish outlet Diario Sport.

They top a shortlist of 10, which did include Messi, along with De Bruyne, Varane, Salah, Hazard, Kane and Mbappe. The official shortlist will be announced by FIFA on Monday.

Last Thursday, at the Champions League draw, Modric was named as the best player in Europe for last season. Real Madrid also scooped the positional prizes at the event: Keylor Navas (goalkeeper), Sergio Ramos (defender), Modric (midfielder) and Ronaldo (forward), now at Juventus but chosen for his performances with Los Blancos.

Messi has finished second in the two editions of The Best to date, always behind Cristiano. Neymar was third in 2016 and Griezmann in 2017.

The winner will be named on September 24 at a gala in London. The prizes are voted for by players, coaches journalists and fans through the Internet.

The exclusion of Lionel Messi, has come as a rude shock to majority of his fans across the world who still believes the football genius supersedes all other players when it comes to showing off their skills on the field of play.

I am so ashamed of Donald Duke – Eunice Atuejide

I am so ashamed of Donald Duke – Eunice Atuejide

Female Presidential aspirant, Eunice Atuejide has expressed her disappointment in another aspirant Donald Duke, over his stance on homosexuality in Nigeria.

In an interview with Laila and Falz, Donald Duke said:

“I don’t understand the emotional feelings a gay person would have toward someone of their sexuality. I don’t understand it. But I would not criminalise them. I would ensure that they have the protection of the law. But if they want to exhibit their sexuality, then that’s an affront on the current norms of society.”

After receiving backlash from many Nigerians who took his comment to mean he might rescind the law criminalizing homosexuality if elected into office, Duke released a statement yesterday saying ‘Homosexuality is a crime in Nigeria and ought to remain so’.

Reacting to Donald Duke’s clarification, Eunice Atuejide expressed her disappointment at the former governor for not taking a firm stance against the anti-gay law.

She wrote:

You see ehn, when I watched Donald Duke with Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and Laila Johnson-Salami on @onthecouchnaija I was so proud of him. Today, I feel awfully ashamed of him.

In fact, the only area he actually made sense while on the couch was when he discussed criminalising homosexuality in Nigeria. I drew strength from his views, and felt more confident about my approach to the topic.

Today, when I saw his retraction, I lost the little respect I had started to develop for the man – Donald Duke.

Dear Donald Duke we must state our opinions clearly, and when we have done so, we must stand by them no matter whose oxes are gored!

How else do you Mr. Donald Duke hope to assure the electorates that your word is your bond?! ?

Homosexuality may be immoral, unacceptable, embarrassing etc, but it is not a crime!

Nobody gets hurt when two or more fully consenting adults indulge in same sex activities. We can criminalise public displays, but certainly not whatever fully consenting adults are doing in the privacy of their homes, offices, hotels etc.

They are HUMANS. And EVERY human being has a fundamental right to the protection of their privacy.

Let’s please read or re-read the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are ALL equal under the laws of this land because we are HUMANS!

And all laws in Nigeria which contravene the Constitution are null and void to the extent of that contradiction.

Prison because one is homosexual runs foul of our Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act and our Constitution. Shikena!

I Get Pissed Off Seeing Girls Who Always Ask Guys For Money – Joro Olumofin

Popular relationship expert, Joro Olumofin, has taken it upon himself to advice ladies who are always asking guys for money to buy hairnet, Iphone and other items.

According to him, those items won’t change your life or make you reach your Self Actualized State. Read his post below:

I don’t approve of Ladies asking Guys for money. I believe men and women are equal, feminists even advocate equality between sexes but I’m very disappointed at the requests a lot of ladies make on their Boyfriends or Suitors.

Most ladies make requests of items that won’t change their status quo or current state permanently.

For example (1) Hair (2) Iphone (3) Dubai Ticket (4) Makeup kit (5) N50,000 / $200 (6) Hair Net (7) Underwear.

These items won’t change your life or make you reach your Self Actualized State. Please ladies from now on, if you’re the TYPE to ask guys for Things.

Please ask for (1)Land (2) 500k Loan (3) Employment (4) School Fees (5) Business Capital or Partnership. Ask with a purpose if you’re going to ask for anything at all, don’t ask to remain the same, ask to change.

FG Approves Firearms For FRSC Officials

FRSC Personnel To “Soon” Start Carrying Guns!
There are strong indications that personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) would soon begin to bear arms.

FG Approves Firearms For FRSC Officials
Speaking with Nigerian Guardian , a member of the FRSC board, who pleaded anonymity, said:
“The FRSC has built its armoury in Gwagwalada Abuja, while there are weapon rooms in all the commands of the corps.”
“We are waiting for government to gazette the approval and equip the armoury in line with the act that established the corps.”

“The essence of the ongoing training and workshop for the personnel is to prepare them on how to comport themselves while bearing arms on duty.”

Speaking also to the news outlet, the commission’s spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, revealed that though the act permits FRSC personnel to bear arms, the corps is waiting for government to gazette the approval.
“I am not aware that the government has perfected a plan to gazette the approval. I am not aware of that,” he said.

In December 2016, the FRSC was forced to release a statement urging members of the public to ignore reports that the corps had begun distributing and mandating its personnel to carry arms.

The statement came amid a complaint by Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi that 70 officers lost their lives that year to reckless motorists.

But Kazeem had told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the rumour was being circulated by mischievous elements seeking to provoke disorder in the society.
Some “irresponsible” people took a statement by the Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, out of context to suit their agenda, he said.

Imo People Will Miss Me When I’m Gone – Okorocha

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has provided reasons he would be missed by the people of the state when he leaves office next year.

Okorocha said he had done enough for the people to miss him after he hands over to a successor in 2019.
The Governor listed free and qualitative education programme in the State and more than 1000 verifiable projects as some of the reasons he won’t be forgotten so fast.

Okorocha said that Imo people will definitely look back with admiration at his 8 years in office.

According to the Governor, he has repositioned the state for better after repurchasing all the assets sold by previous administrations in the state.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, the Governor said, “The free education programme in the State which some opponents of the government had tried to discredit when it was introduced has yielded obvious remarkable results.

“And aside the School enrolment in the State snowballing from 381,000 in 2011 to more than One million in 2017, the State has continued to lead in JAMB applications for the Seventh time now.
“The State has also continued to do very well in WAEC Exams. For instance, in the 2018 Senior School Certificate Exam (SSCE), the State came fifth out of the Thirty-Six States in the Country and the Federal Capital Territory.“

This Is How I Saved My Wife From Depression – Muyiwa Ademola

Nollywood actor, Muyiwa Ademola has opened up on a time when he was totally depressed and contemplated quitting the movie industry.

In an encounter with Sunday Scoop, the top actor said the influx of comedy movies almost made him give up a career he had always loved. But for the interference of his wife, he was able to overcome depression and get back on his feet.
He stated:
“I have been depressed before and I thought it was over for me as an actor. I am a serious film-maker, unlike some of my colleagues who do comedy. When there was an influx of comedy movies in the industry, marketers wanted me to shoot comedy too.
I tried to emulate my colleagues, but it didn’t come to me naturally. Later, I realized that I was not made for comedy movies; I am made for serious and touching stories.”
Explaining further, he said during these periods, people felt it was his end as an actor and he was worried too. But, according to him, his wife kept assuring him that it was just a passing phase.
“I felt depressed during that period. I had stories that once you saw them, you would just go home and sleep. I felt dejected and thought it was over for me as an actor. But my wife helped me through those times. She assured me that it was a passing phase and it was actually one,” he narrated.
Ademola, who plays a key role in a new movie, Bipolar, argued that a lot of people were battling depression.
He stated:
“Most people are depressed, including celebrities. It begins like a child’s play and grows to the point when suicidal thoughts set in. You may think an individual is rich or has everything, but it is not always so.”
Speaking on his role in Bipolar, he said:
“I play the role of a psychiatrist who discovers that a lady has bipolar. It is a film I like all Nigerians to watch as we talk about an issue most people ignore. Both the rich and the poor suffer from it; there is a need to show love to people living with bipolar.
If you don’t do that, they will get to a point where they think everyone hates them and committing suicide becomes the next option.”
